THC Drinks are Growing Popular

It’s no news that cannabis has become more popular. But did you know that the latest trend in the market is THC-infused beverages? You heard me right; cannabis drinks are on the rise! Imagine you’re hanging out to socialize, but alcohol is not really your thing… well, the growing cannabis industry wants to offer you a great alternative.

While beverages represent a small percentage of overall legal cannabis sales in the U.S., we can all agree that drinks are inviting and easy to consume. Maybe you have seen some THC drinks out there already because they come in many forms (check out our NECTAR line here). You can find them in seltzers, ciders, wines, apéritifs, and ready-to-drink canned cocktails. And because they’re so attractive, companies are betting on cannabis drinks as the market for legal cannabis expands.

How THC drinks are made

The most common process is usually called nanoemulsion. This method breaks the cannabis oil down into nanoparticles which allows for faster and more effective absorption by the body. And to ensure a better blend, the THC drinks get mixed with a liquid, such as water, seltzer, juice, or coffee. In the end, they work much like any other edible.

But what about the THC content? Will I get high? Well, the THC dosage (per serving) is generally anywhere from 2.5 milligrams to 10 milligrams. And yes, you’ll probably feel the buzz within 10-15 minutes (or more), so remember to consult with your doctor before sipping away.

Certainly, when dealing with THC of any kind, it’s important to not only have medical advice but also to go slow at first and understand your limits. Seems obvious, but don’t forget to read the label and be aware of how many milligrams of THC you’re consuming.

So what do you think? Would you give a THC drink a go?
